65-Year-Old Dies in Mobile Home Fire
Ten people living in a mobile home escaped a fire that destroyed the place, but one man was trapped inside and could not be saved, according to reports.
Fire crews tore open the walls of a mobile home at 6205 Foster Drive in Falls Township to help the residents inside, but one 65-year-old man did not make it out, according to reports.
The call went out at about 8 p.m. Sunday, according to emergency communication, and firefighters were faced heavy fire with a man trapped inside one of the bedrooms.
Eleven people lived in the home, according to 6ABC.com, and 10 managed to get out. Rescue workers could not reach the remaining man until the fire was under control.
The victim was confirmed dead at about 8:30 p.m. No cause has been confirmed by officials, but radio communications mentioned a gas line in the unit as a possibility.

so the grownup and 10 "children babies"? It's still well over the safe limits in a mobile home. Sorry someone passed, but there's occupational limits for a reason.

this was my uncle, a father who would help anyone and a fantastic poppy. The 11 were himself his children and grand children who all needed a roof over their head recently. Before any nasty comments please pray and think of the great man who our family lost

I have never commented on a story before, but, Bill, no where in this story does it say "sanitary" issues were a cause, nor the amount of people. A gas line was involved, which could happen with 1 person living there. Ive had to bunk with family in the past, and my kids were always clean. A story of a man dying, sounds like a great, generous man, and you question the sanitary conditions? Im sorry for the families loss. Prayers go out.

No where did I attribute the cause of the fire to be related to sanitary conditions, did I? If you look back at the comment, I said "well over the safe limits in a mobile home". When stressed past design limits, parts of the home flex. When those areas flex, what do you think happens to piping and seams? They crack. When they crack, stuff can leak. Feel free to call your local code inspector to ask why there is limits to the number of people who occupy a domicile. A little reading comprehension can go a long way.

Some people have no respect.. Times are tough.. People need to bunk with others till they bounce back. A family lost a dad, a uncle,a grandfather, a friend. At least take a minute to pray for the family.. They nkt only lost a loved one they lost their home... Smh people are just so rude sometimes and assume the worst

It's a shame this fire had happened. Yes, alot of family living in a doublewide, but the same amount of people live in houses sometimes too. With the economic times as they are, this is a perfect example of what the economy is doing to AMERICA. Now this family is homeless and where will they live now. Let's pray for better times for this family. AMEN

Yes, Bill, a little reading comprehension, as well as a little compassion, can go a long way. So, why mention sanitation? You brought that up. And, yes, in a double wide, you can have 2 to a bedroom, meaning, a total of 8 adults can technically live there. Now, its been stated that most of these unfortunate people were children. Im just saying, instead of trying to fault the victims, and snub your nose at them, why not either show compassion, OR just dont say anything. Im sure the family didnt come to you for advice, or to be called dirty.

Sorry if I confused you by bringing up multiple points, next time I'll use shorter sentences.
11 is more than 8, is it not? I dont see anywhere in the codes that say (2 kids can take place of 1 adult. I gave compassion, but bottom line is more were in the house than allowed for safety, and as a direct or indirect result, someone died.
I also don't recall seeing anywhere on this site that I had to clear it through people involved to voice my comments. I'll take your concerns into consideration, but I will continue to do so.

Bill you are rude. I hope you are never in need of compassion after such an accident or loss because I am pretty sure karma will be tapping you on the shoulder.

Thanks hon. Actually I spent all of my workin years in Military, and Emergency Services, so I probably have enough good karma to last through the rest of my years calling out dumb behavior when I see it. Perhaps if you spent a year or two doing it you'd lose tolerance for foolish behavior too? No? Too far of a jump from that high horse?

I would like to address the whole issue . Sure it wasn't safe but where else could they have gone . The economy really sucks . Bill I'm in construction and know codes . Doubt very much if that was the issue of the fire . I also have family in the military and in the past also my uncle was killed in Vietnam. At this time ppl should try to help out this family forget codes and crap . Just be kind and lend a hand . Clothing , toys , school supplies ... I'm sorry I need to look past this since we can't change it and help the family . WHERE R They going to live ??? So whoever is ready this go buy a gift card for $10-$15 and find out where to send it. They need undergarments , tooth paste , shampoo , soap . Seriously !!! I already started as soon as I found out yesterday . I don't have extra money at all . My dad just died so did my mother in law . But if you take 100 ppl and 1/2 donate used clothing or gift cards it shows that we have compassion . No names just do what you can do . No more picking out things we can't change . Make a difference now . I am so are my friends and it only started with one post on FB . Good luck everyone I'm going to meet up with some ppl now to drop off clothing and gift cards . Think about your spring cleaning and make some bags of cloths . If you need sizes just post something on here or email me ill be happy to give sizes n ages . Thank you everyone have a Great Day !!!

It is such a shame and sorry for your loss! but there are rules where that trailer was located and the company that owns the trailer park has strict policies that no more than 2 people per bedroom in a trailer are allowed (doesn't matter if it is adult or child), therefore no more than 6 to 8 people for a double wide you must also have two full baths as well (depending on whether it has 3 or 4 rooms) and no more than 4 to 6 for a single depending if you have 2 or 3 rooms. The economy is terrible but these rules are in place to ensure the safety of their residents! (there's rules for a reason)

Thanks, been saying that all along...some think if a party becomes badly hurt or dies, we can suspend all common sense or logic. Yes, it's tragic, but 11 people is far too many.

Reading this thread makes me sad that someone passed away and I feel sorry for the family. BUT there is absolutely NO reason that many people should be living in a trailer together. Hard times are just that, it doesn't mean you should pack people in like sardines. Maybe child services should be in charge of getting the children into foster care so that they can have proper living conditions if the parents are not competent enough to do so. It is not what the economy is doing to America. That is a low class lazy person's excuse. Probably coming from someone living off of the welfare, food stamp, and free healthcare system. If you can't afford to pay for and house your children, there is such a thing as birth control!

I purposely waited until I was mentally able to comment. Bill, you're a moron. Your year's of working in whatever you said didn't quite give you common sense. First place, the county knew we all lived in there. Did you know my dad? I doubt it because he didn't associate with idiots. Have you called me or my sister and gotten any information at all? No, because I don't know who you are. And Jen Long, funny you mention children services, because they were very much aware of the number of people living there. For your information, I don't live off any assistance, I've worked my butt off since I was 14. Everyone in bucks county that knows me will attest to it. My family is still mourning the loss of my mother, brother, and grandmother from 2011. All within months of each other. I was not aware I had to report to you or anyone else the why of our life. You must be "low class and lazy". Probably neither of you have family or friends and we all see why.

Oh and by the way, the fire had nothing to do with anything posted above. Furthermore, my children are clean, fed and well taken care of. Considering their tragedy, they have continued to excel and move forward. No we are not destitute, nor were we before the fire. Screw you for assuming you know what you're talking about. Instead of being inconsiderate low life, pick up the phone and tell your parents you love them, kiss your children and be grateful you didn't endure what I did.
