Courier Times Debuts Smaller Paper
Starting Monday, the Bucks County Courier Times will be printing a smaller paper.
Call it a sign of the times.
The Bucks County Courier Times is set to debut a smaller newspaper on Monday morning.
In a front-page letter to readers, Executive Editor Patricia S. Walker wrote the paper would be narrower by an inch. She added that readers might find the new page size easier to hold.
"We made no changes to the depth of our local news coverage," the letter reads. Walker also said the Courier Times will remain committed to printing concerns and opinions of readers.
The New York Times and Wall Street Journal are among the many newspaper that have reduced the size of their pages in an era of shrinking advertising revenues.
The Courier Times and sister paper The Intellegencer have worked to keep with the times in recent years by adding social media accounts and a video team.

As the wife of a "4th generation" pressman, at least the paper is still rolling. I remember all the studying & testing to keep up with the changes of his job demands and many people are not aware of the "backbone" of the newspaper. May the presses keep rolling!

The only people that want the written word anymore are the foreigners, but soon they wont want newspapers either, I was a pressman and its gone downhill in the last 10 years. I'm amazed the Inquirer is still open.

What costs me money to get information I can see on TV or the internet. There isn't anything in the papers I need to see except they are good for the garden and doing the crosswords.

Does that mean that we will be paying less for the newspaper since it is smaller. Are they getting smaller newspaper boxes since the old ones will be too big to hold them. Do I need to get better glasses to read the paper since it is smaller? How will the adds and coupons fit into the paper? Will they be hanging out the sides?
