Do Toll Increases Discourage you from Taking the Turnpike?

Pennsylvania Turnpike toll rates recently increased by 10 percent for cash customers and 2 percent for E-ZPass customers. Does that affect your drive?

Travelling on the turnpike just got more expensive. Starting on Sunday, Jan. 6, the cost to travel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike increased.

The rates increased by 10 percent for drivers who pay with cash and 2 percent for E-ZPass customers. These new rates are expected to generate about $25 million in revenue in 2013, according to a statement released by the Turnpike Commission.

Does the rate increase discourage you from taking the turnpike, or will you continue driving the toll roads despite the increase?

I have an E-ZPass, but I always try and take a toll-free route if possible. How about you?

It's not just the tolls. There are a lot of people on the turnpike who drive like idiots - I know you don't have to pay extra for that. Also it seems like they could do a better job planning road repairs and shutting down lanes, etc. I guess there is a reason that the letters DOT are contained in the word "idiot."

why do these scunbag rich losers always want to rip off the regular people. they can care less they get to ride the turnpike free in limos. We have to work two jobs just to try and pay our normal bills. why dont they lower it and fire the bosses.

In any other business when you pay with cash you get a break. Gas stations are a good example. The turnpike commission is a bunch of scumbags. Their aim is to put the toll collectors out of work. At a time when we need more jobs these losers are finding a way to eliminate jobs. Also tell me where it is fair to discriminate against cash paying motorists. Why do we have to have this two tier arrangement. This is total discrimination and should be looked into as a violation.
