NHS’s BCIT Department Wins Financial Literacy Grant
Neshaminy High School's Business, Computer and Information Technology Department recently won a financial literacy grant.
The Business, Computer and Information Technology Department of Neshaminy High School was awarded a Platinum Grant of $5,800 to be used to promote financial literacy among high school students.
According to a district press release, the opportunity to earn the grant was a result of TruMark Financial Credit Union’s venture called “Kiss a Pig.” The department took advantage of this opportunity to acquire funds to be used to provide students with the tools needed to learn how to make informed choices as they earn, save, spend, borrow and invest their money.
Having received the grant, The Philadelphia Foundation has forwarded a check to the district and the department has already spent some of the money on the purchase of additional finance textbooks for the classroom.
