Open Space Grant Preserves 10 Acres in Middletown & Penndel

Bucks County is helping Middletown and Penndel obtain a portion of land for open space.

 

The Bucks County Commissioners recently gave unanimous approval to providing funding to the governments of Middletown and Penndel for the purchase of open space.

The county contributed $545,810 for the Middletown portion of the property and $224,497 for the Penndel Borough section. A majority of the land lies in Middletown.

The mostly wooded 10.3 acres is lcoated at the end of PFC John Delola Avenue.

Bucks County Open Space Coordinator Kris Kernhe said the property is expected to be used for passive recreation and possibly trails.

The commissioners praised the two towns for working together to get funding through a Municipal Open Space grant, the county said in a release.

The above map shows the approximate area of land that was approved to be purchased with open space funds.
