Firefighter Injured After Pickup Truck Explodes

A pickup truck caught fire at Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue in Bristol Borough Aug. 24. Witnesses say the driver ran from the car before it exploded.

Late this afternoon, a U-Haul pickup truck exploded at Jefferson Avenue and Wood Street in Bristol Borough.

Witnesses say a man ran from the truck when it caught fire.

Bristol Fire Company Chief Herbert Slack said a firefighter was injured while containing the fire and was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital.

There is no word on the driver.

Wood Street remained open, and Jefferson Avenue re-opened once the pickup was towed away at about 5:30 p.m.

The incident is under investigation.

hope firefighter is ok, truck owner should have bought a ford!!!
