Multiple Victims Dead in I-95 Accident

A deadly accident on I-95 tied up traffic during the Saturday evening commute.

A deadly accident on northbound I-95 closed the highway Saturday evening as emergency crews worked to free victims trapped in a car.

Media and emergency radio reports indicated that two people were killed in the crash. Four other victims were transported to area hospitals.

The accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. near the Route 13 (Bristol Pike) overpass. The scene is near the Bensalem and Bristol border.

According to Phillyburbs.com, six people were in a vehicle that rolled over. Several victims were trapped and one person was believed to be thrown out of the vehicle.

A report from the AlertPage network stated that one victim remained entrapped more than 30 minutes after the accident.

Both lanes of the major highway were closed for a period of time, a story on 6abc.com said. The southbound lanes appeared to be reopened by 8 p.m.

PennDOT traffic cameras showed the crash site remained active with fire and police at 8:25 p.m.

Firefighters from Bensalem and Bristol were dispatched to the scene along with EMS personnel from the two townships and Middletown.

A medical helicopter was also sent to the scene. It is unclear whether it transported any patients.

How tragic for these families especially during a time of seasonal Thanksgiving. May God give them consolation & strength during this trying time.:
