Amber Longhitano, a Bristol Township councilwoman, is urging residents of the township to follow the lead of the Croydon Acres Civic Association and celebrate Halloween on Friday.
Longhitano said she was flooded with questions from parents about trick-or-treating in the township over the past few days.
In the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, officials urged parents to let their young ones trick-or-treat on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The problem was that a nor'easter brought snow to the area Wednesday night.
Township officials on Wednesday said in a statement: "The change was never 'official'. Municipalities made a 'request' for their residents to postpone trick or treating."
Longhitano, acting in an unofficial capacity, said that after talking with many parents she now hopes kids across the township go out in costume on Friday and collect candy.
"The children did lose out," she said. "This returns them to a sense of normalcy."
