Bristol Borough

Residents in the borough awoke to no power and more than a dozen fallen trees, borough manager James Dillon said.

Public works crews were seen removing fallen branches at 9:30 a.m.

A tree fell against St. Ann Catholic Church Convent on Jefferson Avenue during the storm Monday night.

Officials were not sure the extent of the damage to the convent.

Bristol Township

Residents in the Oaktree section of the township were lucky to make it through Hurricane Sandy unharmed.

Several trees fell on homes and cars during the height of the storm overnight.

“We were just luck that oak didn’t crash through the house and kill somebody,” said one woman, whose home was struck by a tree.

Residents and Bristol Township road crews worked with chainsaws to remove several large oak trees that blocked Oval Turn Lane Tuesday morning.

Maria Delgato of Bensalem said she came to see the damage in Oaktree after getting word of it from a friend.

“It’s really impressive to see what this storm did to big trees,” she said. “I’m just happy no one got killed.”

In the Red Cedar section, residents awoke to find trees down and several roads blocked.

One home that was struck by a tree also have five vehicles trapped in it’s branches.

Tullytown

Power in the borough was out Monday morning and several residents were spotted along Main Street clearing leaves and branches that fell.

Traffic signals in the community were being powered by gas generators.

The folks at the Bristol Township Emergency Operations Center's can be reached at 267-812-2930. They would be your best bet.

Both of those areas are still without power. If they went to a shelter it would be either Pillsbury High School or Bristol Township senior center. If you'd like, I can try to drive over there tomorrow. You may email me specific info at gamedame @ gmail.com. no spaces
