Student Makes Bomb Threat at Bristol High School

A written bomb threat was received at Bristol High School this morning, according to a message on the school's website.

A student is in custody after writing a bomb threat directed at Bristol High School, a message on the school's website said.

The school received a written bomb threat on Tuesday morning. Officials were able to "quickly determine the author of the threat and are taking all precautions necessary to ensure that our students are safe," the message said.

Police are involved, according to the school's announcement, and the student has been taken into custody.

I can't believe that the school didn't inform me with a phone call. I wouldn't have even known had I not checked this website. Very disappointed in the way I was informed of this incident.

Its a shame when students know more than the parents. Website should have informed parents of incident no matter what. Nothing like getting a text from your own children stating what THEY know and not the parents. It's a disgrace....

Question to parents - How do you think the district could have handled the situation better?

Call tree, automatic messaging that they already use for weather updates, allowing my child to call me from school...

Also, parents: did you receive a call later in the afternoon, or not at all?

I never received a call, not even later in the day.

In light of recent school incidents that have been happening we are again reminded that our school system's safety systems for students & parents is seriously flawed! Though I don't have a child in school I none the less cannot be silent over this failure in necessary communication.

Maybe it's just me, but what I got out of this article is that, even though this is a "high school student", he/she is dumber than a bag of dirt. He actually thought that no one would be able to trace him online? Really? *lol* Sorry, but it was a prank, I'm hoping, made by someone STUPID enough to not know S**T about computers and what can be accomplished on them.
