Levittown Patch Editor Says Thanks
Guest local editor Tom Sofield will be taking on a new role at Patch starting this week.
For the past few months, I've had the honor, privilege and absolute pleasure of serving as the guest local editor for Levittown Patch. Today, I bid Levittown goodbye - somewhat.
I would like to start by thanking everyone of you who offered news tips, uploaded photos, announced a milestone, blogged, commented on a story and signed up to receive the daily newsletter. Also, a huge thanks to everyone who has greeted me at government meetings and when I’ve been out and about.
The experience of running Levittown Patch has afforded me the opportunity to learn more about the community and the over 150,000 people who make it great. Personally, I could not have had a better experience.
From sleepless nights covering Hurricane Sandy and the devastation that followed to spending a freezing cold pre-dawn mornings covering police stories with the hardworking men and women who keep the community safe to meeting the business owner who sold a $50 million lottery ticket - I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I can honestly say my stint in Levittown has been the highlight of my nearly two years at Patch.
Since coming to the site, my goal has been to inform the area of happenings in their communities and to help facilitate a destination for lively discussion of today’s issues. And in the end, I think Levittown Patch has accomplished that goal.
I’d like to thank my fellow dedicated reporters and editors at the Bucks and Montgomery County Patch sites. Their help, contribution and guidance has been invaluable to the site.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be transitioning to a new role at Patch. But I’m sure my byline will be featured on Levittown Patch from time to time.
Starting Wednesday, Lower Southampton Patch editor Nicole Jenet begins her role as the new editor of Levittown Patch. I'm excited for her to see how great the area is!
Personally, I know that I’ll continue to visit the community where I have so many dear friends and I'll keep on exploring the wonderful parks and businesses that make Levittown ... well, Levittown.
Stay awesome!

Never said what that new role is. And worse off, why is someone who lives in Southampton covering our news??? I'm applying for editor starting right now.

@Robert - the bar has been set high. Talk is cheap, take the challenge - I think you will be surprised at what it takes to bring a site that was nothing to where to has gone.
