Stores were packed and spirits were high as people bought Powerball tickets in hopes of winning the $579.9 million jackpot on Wednesday.

At 11 p.m., lotto officials said the lucky numbers are 5, 16, 22, 23 and 29. The Powerball number was 6.

At the Wawa on Oxford Valley Road, a line of about a dozen people gathered at the automated lottery kiosk in the store just before 10 p.m.

The Powerball is played in over 40 states and has garnered plenty of attention as its jackpot has grown.
