Save Your Money & Motor!!!!

How many times have you got in your car after it sat for hours and hours, then you start it and begin driving? I bet at least 90% of the population does this!! Well I can tell you right now, after reading this blog you will think twice about doing it again.

Getting in your vehicle after it sat for a period of time, starting it and then driving it right away is HORRIBLE for you your motor!! 90% of drivers do this all year around but doing it during the winter time is the worst. I will tell you why...

When you start a motor cold after sitting for a while means there is NO OIL clinging to the pistons or cylinder walls to lubricate the top half of the motor. Which means you are driving at high RPM's on METAL TO METAL... Which may not cease the motor at first but will damage the rings and then your motor could develop white smoke from the exhaust. Then finally the motor will stop running. Costing you HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of dollars for replacement or repair.

To avoid this simply do this: Start your car, let its idle for about 3-4 minutes to allow oil to be pumped to the cylinders and lubricate properly. This should be done anytime your vehicle sits for more than 4 or 5 hours.

Bogus !
30 seconds is plenty.
Modern vehicles have electronic controls that allow for you to drive off after 30 seconds because the best way to warm up a vehicle is to drive it. Just avoid hard acceleration and high speeds for those 3 minutes.
Now excessive idling will damage your engine , all that unburnt fuel goes somewhere after it washes the lubricant off the cylinder wall it dilutes the rest of your oil.
