Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his second term in Congress and wants you to give him another. Although he claims to work for middle class families, his actual votes tell a different story:
- Voted to turn Medicare into a voucher program costing seniors $6,400 out-of-pocket each year.
- Voted for budgets that would kill jobs—two years in a row.
- Voted for $3 trillion in tax breaks for the rich and big corporations—two years in a row, causing local and school taxes to go up.
- Voted against extending middle class tax cuts that would help 114 million families.
- Voted against a measure that would ensure that millionaires no longer pay lower tax rates than working families.
- Voted to block consideration of a bill that would close tax loopholes for corporations that ship jobs overseas.
- Voted to cut $8 billion from Veterans benefits.
- Voted to eliminate Pell Grants for $1 million students.
- Voted to give $40 billion in tax breaks to Big Oil companies while his constituents pay over $4 per gallon for gas.
- Supported George Bush’s Social Security privatization scheme in 2004.
