Top Ten Reasons to Fire Mike Fitzpatrick

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his second term in Congress and wants you to give him another. Although he claims to work for middle class families, his actual votes tell a different story:

  1. Voted to turn Medicare into a voucher program costing seniors $6,400 out-of-pocket each year.
  2. Voted for budgets that would kill jobs—two years in a row.
  3. Voted for $3 trillion in tax breaks for the rich and big corporations—two years in a row, causing local and school taxes to go up.
  4. Voted against extending middle class tax cuts that would help 114 million families.
  5. Voted against a measure that would ensure that millionaires no longer pay lower tax rates than working families.
  6. Voted to block consideration of a bill that would close tax loopholes for corporations that ship jobs overseas.
  7. Voted to cut $8 billion from Veterans benefits.
  8. Voted to eliminate Pell Grants for $1 million students.
  9. Voted to give $40 billion in tax breaks to Big Oil companies while his constituents pay over $4 per gallon for gas.
  10. Supported George Bush’s Social Security privatization scheme in 2004.
