Through my communication with Spirit, I have been given great insight into what happens to our own Spirit when our physical bodies expire here on earth. Every soul is given the opportunity to cross over into Heaven. Our way is lit by an incredible white light, shimmering with facets of rainbow colors that is almost blinding in its brilliance. The Spirit of those who have crossed over before us, as well as Angels, Spirit Guides and Past Spiritual Masters, may all be there to help us with our transition and to show us the way.
Once we have crossed, the veil is lifted and we are once again reunited with the knowledge and understanding that may have eluded us when we were in human form. We review our lives in a non-judgmental way to see how our soul progressed on its earthly journey. Forgiveness, healing, and compassion are extended to us and by us as we understand the reasons for why we acted the way we did and for the choices that we made.
Our soul continues to evolve while in Heaven but in a more joyous way. We learn new skills, volunteer for jobs and special assignments, and learn to exist within the peace and harmony that surrounds us as we await our reunions with members of our soul group - family, friends, and loved ones who have yet to cross over. Some may choose to come back to earth for more lessons; however, most choose to wait for the reunions with their soul groups before coming back again.
The souls on earth who, in great sadness and desperation, take their own lives, are also given the opportunity to cross over into Heaven. This does not mean that there is not an extremely high price to pay. I cannot express strongly enough that suicide is never the answer to life's problems. Instead of a rejoicing reunion with loved ones who have already crossed over, these souls move forward to a place of great healing which I refer to as the "Spiritual Hospital" in Heaven. There is a tremendous amount of spiritual pain that must be healed when these troubled souls realize the extent of what they had lost out on by interrupting their soul's carefully planned evolvement through life on earth. This is an incredibly wrenching experience for souls who were already deeply troubled while they were here. Help is given to them at the Spiritual Hospital for as long as it takes and, when they are ready, they are free to rejoin the rest of the population in Heaven for their reunions and continued soul growth.
Ultimately, we choose whether or not we want to travel through the doorway to Heaven. We all have free will, even when it comes to a decision such as that. Some of those who choose not to cross may do so out of fear, doubt, or confusion. There are many reasons for this. Some souls fear that others will not survive without them, they may doubt where they are being led, or they may be confused about the fact that they are no longer living on earth. This does not mean that the door to Heaven is closed to them. Once their particular door closes, these souls will then need assistance with their crossing, such as an opening provided when someone else crosses or with the help of a Medium. Until assistance arrives, they reside in Spirit between worlds and may be upset or confused. If you suspect that you have a Spirit such as this around you, it is best to contact a Medium who can help them cross over into the light.
The most important message that Spirit wants you to understand is that Heaven does exist. Take comfort in knowing that your Spirit continues on after your body ceases to exist here on earth. Live well and love during your time here on earth, knowing that all of your experiences here are for the evolution of your soul and that Heaven awaits when your Spirit is ready for its next destination.
With Light and Love,

My only problem with this is the so called white light. I've read that people in Japan who pass, say they see a meditating garden instead of a white light. I'm not sure If our societal differences continues in the afterlife but to me the white light is too cliche and predictable. I'm not sure I buy it. I really don't know what I believe. I see both side of the fence

@EuropeanAmerican - Thank you for your comment on my post. What I wrote comes from my own direct experiences with Spirit and their communications with me. I find the perspective that you offered to be very interesting and certainly worth looking into. Do you happen to know if the garden that you read about is surrounded by white light or whether they mentioned crossing through the light to get to the garden? The garden itself certainly sounds like a wonderful cultural aspect. I would be interested in reading the article or book that you are referring to and would appreciate it if you could you share the title and the author with me and the rest of the readers. I am always interested in learning about the experiences of other mediums. Thank you again for your post.

Karen, I for one enjoy your column. I may not have the same beliefs and I have doubts, but I find your columns to be positive and enlightening - I get tired of controversy and bad news. It never hurts to know what others believe - one should always be open to new things.

So much of what you say is directly contrary to what the Bible says about heaven. (Obviously, you don't believe in the Bible, and that is your right.) You really seem like a lovely person, and I would hope that you would be open-minded to what the Bible has to say about heaven, and not just what "Spirit" has communicated to you. With diametrically opposing views, one is clearly right, making the other clearly wrong. That's a serious matter, considering eternity. Have you ever investigated what the Bible says about heaven? I don't desire to go back and forth publicly, but I would welcome a personal email dialogue about this, if you would. Submitted honestly, in love.

Hello Amy - Thank you for your comment on my column. I certainly appreciate your views, even though they differ from mine. I believe strongly in God and I know that he resides within all of our hearts. There are many different viewpoints on religion, each one of them with their own edicts; however, it is very interesting to note that the majority of them all lead back to the belief in a higher power. I have studied many different religions and have decided that for me, leading a Spiritual life is best rather than a religious one. God is in my heart, as he is in the heart of each one of us. If I would like to speak to him or pray to him, I can do that anytime, anywhere. This is all a part of our free will. You will find that not one way is right and another wrong, it is that there are many different roads that get us all to the same place. An open mind is our best ally, as it can help us all learn how to appreciate the differences within one another and to respect the choices that we make regarding our personal beliefs. Blessings to you and yours!

@Joseph, Hejo, and Chalie - I am sorry that all of you feel that it is necessary to write negative or incomprehensible messages on people's columns and posts. It is unfortunate that you feel it is your mission to add more negativity to the world. It makes it challenging for the rest of us who are trying to make this world a better place. I wish all of you the greatest of blessings so that you can see and experience for yourself how good this world really can be. I do this with the hope that you can one day see how it is better to be kind to one another than it is to be negative. If you desire attention so much, start giving it to yourself by working on improving your life and outlook. Trust me, no one likes Internet trolls. It is not the kind of attention you want to draw to yourselves. Blessings to you and yours.

Thank you for responding, Karen! I agree with so much of what you say ... that God CAN reside in our hearts (if we ask Him) and I very much dislike "religion." Religion too often steers people away from God and steals the focus off the beautiful, simple relationship one has with God, through His Holy Spirit and Jesus. And yes, you can speak to him anytime, anywhere! I totally agree. But the Bible very clearly says there is just one way, and NOT many roads that lead to heaven. (Sadly, it says on that day many will be surprised to realize that they followed the wrong path.) Jesus himself says (John 14:6) "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Unbelievers quickly dismiss this as being narrow-minded, but I think it's our human nature, our unwillingness to submit to authority. No one likes being told they can't do something their own way, and you MUST follow someone else's way. Truthfully, that single way is offered equally to everybody, but not everybody chooses to accept it. This is where our free will -- which I again agree with you on -- goes against what God hopes for us. He wants us to trust Him and follow the way he has clearly defined in His Word. He wants it so bad and loves us ALL so much that He sacrificed his child to make that way for us. It cost Him his son's life. All is costs us is our free will. Yet, that's still a tough thing to give. It was a struggle for me, but the reward has been glorious.

This is my interpretation of God's message to all of us. God is love. Love, in its most pure form, has no limitations or boundaries. Mankind makes those conditions and places his own interpretation on events, etc. The Bible, the Torah, the Koran, etc., we're written by man and re-interpreted innumerable times. Jesus taught love and God is love. It is through God's love that we find God, not through edicts that say we must believe a certain way or follow a certain set of rules put forth by man. God loves us all, regardless of the books we read or not, or the religions we follow or not follow. God is love, pure and simple. The Creator resides in everyone's hearts as love, whether people are aware of it or not, and he welcomes our love in return. We don't need to ask for that love, it is already there waiting for us. If more people understood this and shared that unconditional love with one another through understanding and acceptance, there would be a lot less fighting, wars, and power struggles over who is right and who is wrong. Embrace the love within your heart and know that it is okay to have differing opinions. It is not about who is right or wrong regarding which beliefs to follow. It is about love. Namaste!

I was raised Catholic but do not agree with the teachings of the Catholic Church.I find the Bible is a source of comfort with stories from where you can learn about "life" and the decisions we make. They are stories. I too find myself more sprititual. I see God in everything around me. I do not need anyone to tell me how to believe! I do believe in heaven and a place where we will all be together again only in a more "enlightened" state. I like your column. Refreshing and uplifting.

Remember Jesus never wrote the Bible. People wrote the Bible about Jesus. There are no books in the Bible authored by Jesus. Still a good book though...just don't take it so literal...get what you can out of it and live life.

I agree with you, Johnny Jupiter. Mankind has placed his interpretation on events and have placed them in a book. There are hundreds of versions of the bible, all with their own interpretation. There are other books and religions as well. The Creator does not exclude anyone. Mankind does that. Thanks for your posts!

I think our only "Heaven" is right here on Earth in front of us! Live your life now! And respect others. Although i laugh at most of what is said here, i respect your right to your own views and hope you respect mine. I don't subscribe to any organized religion, I think they have all gone down the wrong path. My Religion can be described in the familiar phrase "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
