Copper and radiators were stolen recently from Swain Street in Bristol Borough, according to Police reports. A Jan. 23 police blotter stated that $5,000 worth of radiators and copper tubing were stolen from Swain Street in Bristol. The theft took place sometime between the last week of December 2012 and Jan. 21, 2013, the reports said. Copper thefts are becoming more widespread in the United States, according to the Coalition Against Copper Theft. Since prices for copper have more than doubled in the past two years, the coalition says the theft of copper "has grown exponentially." The …
Falls Township Police are investigating two armed robberies that both occurred Friday, Jan. 18 within the same hour. At about 9:03 p.m., a white male wearing a puffy blue jacket entered the Game Stop in the Fairless Hills Shopping Center and ordered everyone to the ground and the point of a black revolver. He then removed an unknown amount of money from the cash register and was last seen fleeing on foot toward the old Walmart. Thursday, 11:13 a.m.: During a press conference, Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark, Commanding Officer of Homicide Unit, stated that Jason Smith has been charged with the murder of pediatrician Melissa Ketunuti in addition to an arson and related charges. Detectives used "every bit" of surveillance footage in the area of the victim's home to develop Smith as a suspect. A 20-year-old man was struck in the face with some type of object in the parking lot of Pennsbury High School Friday, Jan. 18 at about 8:53 p.m. According to the Falls Township Police Department, the actor, a black male in his 20s, was last seen fleeing in a small red vehicle on New Falls Road toward Tyburn Road. The assault caused a large laceration to the victim's head. He was transported to St. Mary's trauma center. His condition is unknown at this time. Bristol Township police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Tuesday evening in the 100 block of Cherry Lane in the Crabtree neighborhood of Levittown. No one was injured in a fire that damage the house at 64 Border Rock Road in the Levittown section of Bristol Township early Monday morning. Fire crews responded to the blaze at 2:02 a.m. and arrived to heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the dwelling, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said. The cause of the fire remains undermined and the investigation is ongoing. the fire appeared to have emanated from the back of the house, Dippolito said. Snow started to fall around the region shortly after dark in Bucks County and ended up dropping an inch in Feasterville, according to the National Weather Service’s Mount Holly, N.J. office. A medical emergency is believed to be the reason the driver of a maroon Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck veered across New Falls Road, hit a homeless man on a bicycle and then a building Thursday morning in Bristol Township, police said. The homeless bicyclist was struck and treated by EMTs at the scene. A friend latear took the man to the hospital for further evaluation, police Sgt. Chuck Burns said. Bristol Fire Company (Station 51) has started a new year with changes to its officers that oversee emergency operations in the field and routine administrative duties within the company. A burglary took place on Jefferson Avenue in Bristol Borough, according to a police report. On Jan. 6 around 12 p.m. a $1,350 worth of items were stolen from a home, police said. Golf clubs, an air conditioner, marble sing, toilet and four tire rims, all valued at $1,350, were taken. Police responded to other incidents including a citation for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct on Cedar Street, and a theft from a Ford that was parked on Lincoln Avenue. A man with a “scruffy” beard is alleged to have kidnapped a woman Sunday afternoon at knifepoint afternoon in the Morrisville section of Falls Township, police said. The incident all started outside the Centre Fruit Gourmet at 364 West Trenton Road and ended with the suspect being arrested at the TD Bank just down the street. A South End Auto Parts employee caught a man who who had cut the lock on the business' gate and was taking items from a large garage in the rear of the property Monday, Jan. 14. When the employee confronted the suspect, the man walked away and entered an older model Dodge pickup truck with Pennsylvania tags. The business is located at 791 West Bridge Street. Two young Bristol Township men were arrested after a foot pursuit following a robbery that left a man shot early Saturday morning.
