Police concluded part of their investigation into the minivan and tractor-trailer accident that happened last Friday afternoon at Veterans Highway (Route 413) and I-95. "Investigation showed the minivan, while exiting I-95, disregarded a red traffic signal at a high rate of speed," Bristol Township Sgt. Chuck Burns said. He added that the "minivan then struck the tractor trailer which was attempting to turn from northbound SR 413 onto I-95." A police blotter including an arrest for retail theft was released by Bristol Borough Police on Jan. 8. According to the report, a 36-year-old man from Foster Avenue Circle in Bristol Township was arrested for retail theft at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7. The man was charged with retail theft at Walmart at Bristol Commerce Park, police said. He will be summoned to court for the theft charge. The man was released to the Sheriffs Department due to an active warrant out of Bucks County.
Just after 11 p.m. Monday night, residents reported hearing a loud bang near their homes on Levittown Patch's Facebook page. The loud bang they heard was a van that overturned into Queen Ann Creek at New Falls Road & Indian Creek Drive in Levittown. According to a Breaking News Network alert, first responders were on the scene. The driver of the van was able to self extricate and was treated on the scene for injuries. In a recent Bristol Township burglary, an unknown subject took a black Ruger 9mm valued at approximately $600. This incident occurred on Rocky Pool Lane January 4 between 11 a.m. and 3:27 p.m. The subject gained entry through a side door. The Bristol Township Police Department is also investigating the following burglary: Sometime between 4 p.m. Jan. 4 and 7 a.m. Jan. 5, an unknown subject gained entry through the read door by prying it open. A cause of death for the 20-year-old Levittown man killed when he lost control of his sport bike motorcycle on Woodbourne Road in Middletown on Sunday afternoon has been ruled accidental. Bucks County Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell said Brandon Rogers died of “multiple traumatic injuries” sustained when he was thrown off his bike. Police sources say the victim was located several hundred feet away from his bike. Authorities believe the victim was ejected from the bike after losing control at around 3:15 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus Hall. No other vehicles were involved. Rescuers rushed the …
Bristol Borough Police Department released a recent blotter on Jan. 7. An engagement ring was reported stolen from a residence on Jackson Street. The ring was taken sometime in the past few weeks, police reports said. The ring was valued at $400.
Authorities plan to resume their investigation into what caused two boats to catch fire at a Croydon marina late Sunday night. Crews from the Croydon, Union and Cornwalls fire companies were dispatched to the Snug Harbor Marina on the Neshaminy Creek for a report of flames at around 11:15 p.m., Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said. Officials found the two dry-docked boats ablaze. Special firefighting foam was used to extinguish the fire which was exacerbated by the vessels' fuel, Dippolito said. Police chased down four subjects who allegedly broke into Sesame Place Sunday night, Jan. 6. According to a breaking news network alert that was sent out just after 10:30 p.m., Falls Township and Middletown Township police were in foot pursuit with four subjects at Oxford Valley Road and North Bucks Town Drive. They allegedly broke into Sesame Place located at 100 Sesame Road in Langhorne. All four suspects are now in police custody and medical treatment was requested for one suspect who has a laceration. A Bristol man has been cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to a recent Bristol Borough police report. The blotter stated that the 26-year-old man from Weston Avenue in Bristol Township was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 1:30 a.m. The man was given the citation on Beaver Street. Sometime between Dec. 30 and Jan. 3, six air handlers at a Levittown business on the 1400 block of Veterans Highway were stripped of copper wiring and tubing. The damage is estimated at several thousand dollars. Middletown Township police are also investigating thefts from vehicles that occurred sometime overnight Jan. 2, 2013. The Bucks County Coroner's Office said Wednesday the death of a teenage boy struck by a SEPTA passenger rails train in Middletown on New Year's Day was an accident. Trevor Newman, 16, was walking north on the tracks when a commuter train headed from Center City to Trenton approached from behind. The conductor saw the teen and blew the horn and tried to stop, coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell said. Wednesday, 1:08 p.m.: The shed fire in Edgely was caused by an electrical failure, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said Wednesday afternoon. The New Year's Eve garage fire on Patterson Avenue was actually a detached structure fire. Dippolito said the structure held a sauna. The fire was started by a wood burning stove. A pedestrian, possibly a teenage boy, was struck and killed just south of the Langhorne Train Station in Middletown on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. The victim was struck by a train headed from Center City to Trenton just before 2:30 p.m., SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said. A suspected burglar ran from a Parkway Drive homeowner and eluded a police dog Thursday afternoon in the Levittown section of Falls Township. A homeowner returned to their home in the 500 block of Parkway Drive to find a burlgar inside their home, police said. Luckily, nothing was reported missing and no one was seriously hurt. The suspect "pushed past" the homeowner and ran down Parkway Drive. Police arrived and used a K-9 unit to track the suspect, authorities said.
