On a recently afternoon, weeds and small trees can been seen slowly take over the abandoned house and bar that sit along New Falls Road in Falls Township. The Lower Bucks Tavern site is marked by a sign as a 1.5 acre "development opportunity." The question: What would you like to see take the place of the former Lower Bucks Tavern?
It's drive-in stalls were once filled with carhops on skates delivering orders of foot-long coney hot dogs and burgers to earger customers, but the former Sonic off Route 13 in Tullytown Borough now sits vacant, partically surrounded by orange contruction fence. The Tullytown location closed in early 2012. The former Lower Southampton location closed in summer of 2011 and has already been re-purposed into a Dunkin Donuts and small strip shopping center. The question is: What would you like to see take the place of the former Levittown Sonic?
After sitting vacant since it closed in 2008, demolition crews took down the old De Grand Diner along Route 13 in Bristol Township. The diner's parking lot became overgrown with weeds and filled with trash as the years pasted. The front windows were broken and boards slowly filled their place. The Save-A-Lot grocery store on Haines Road in Bristol Township closed last week. Products remained on the shelves as a few customers stopped to read the closed sign at the entrance. The sign said the location is "permanently closed." An email to the company on why the Levittown store, which has been in the that location for about 10 years, is now closed was not returned. Save-A-Lot stores are independentlyly owned and store owners license the brand name. In 2011, the chain was one of the largest grocers in the nation with over 1,300 locations.   What do you think should take the place of the…
