Saturday, October 6^th, from 11am to 4pm, will be Silver Lake Nature Center’s 5th Annual Green Fest!! This event is FREE and open to the public. 

Local “green” vendors will be here to demonstrate ways that you can conserve energy and save money in your own home or business.  There will also be lots of fun for the whole family! Some activities will include our Passport Game & Prizes, Face Painting, a Live Animal Show by the Mercer County Wildlife Center, FREE Concerts, a STAR LAB by the Briar Bush Nature Center, the PA Dept. of Agriculture’s Woodmobile, walks along the Nature Center trails to get a close-up look at the beautiful changing colors of the leaves, and more!!  

During the Green Fest, you can learn more about Earthships AND check out our Sustainable Building Project! We are currently working on building this "biotecture structure," based on Michael Reynolds' Earthship designs! Learn how these carbon-zero buildings can heat and cool themselves, gather and clean their own water, recycle their own waste, and produce their own food!

Visit our Basket Raffle Booth to take a chance on beautiful handmade jewelry, green products, local wines, or one of the many other baskets.  Food will also be available for purchase.
