Holiday Shop Opens at Three Arches, Pennsbury Senior's Appeal Denied

  • The Holiday Craft & Gift Shoppe opens at 10 a.m. at the Three Arches Thursday for the gift-giving season. The shops hours are Wed. 7-9 p.m.; Thurs. 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Fri.-Sun. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Located at 335 Trenton Rd. in Fairless Hills, it will be open until Dec. 15.   • The PIAA denied Pennsbury senior Rip Engel's appeal to play his final year of basketball for the Falcons, according to Philly.com. Engel played his freshman year at Roman Catholic, then transferred to Council Rock North for two years before settling on Pennsbury for the 2013-2014 school year. The Bucks County Courier Times reports that Engel was prohibited from playing because his transfer to Pennsbury violated a rule that says students cannot transfer schools for athletic reasons.
  • The Pennsbury School Board meets Thursday at 8 p.m. at Fallsington Elementary. The agenda includes the consideration of renewing the charter for the Bucks County Montessori Charter School.
  • A fire Wednesday morning at the Ramada Inn in Bristol Township involved an electrical panel at the hotel, according to LevittownNow.com. No injuries were reported.
  • Sunny today, with a high near 53, according to the National Weather Service.
