After 8 Months Missing, Fairless Hills Owner & Pooch Reunited

Cubby was found Wednesday at the intersection of Trenton and Elmwood roads in Falls Township. On Thursday, SPCA officials discovered the dog had been missing from home for months.

Cubby the Pomeranian was found injured and alone Wednesday morning at intersection of Elmwood and Trenton roads in the Fairless Hills section of Falls Township.

SPCA human officer Nikki Thompson worked Wednesday and much of Thursday to try to connect the small dog with its owner.

By Thursday afternoon, the dog was reunited with it's owner, who had been missing the 8-year-old dog since it disappeared in June.

Kristin Quinlan, Cubby's owner, told Thompson the dog disappeared from the yard of her Fairless Hills home in June. Quinlan was not sure if the dog was let out of the fenced in yard by mistake or snatched.

Both the owner and Thompson were not sure where the dog, which appeared well kept, had been for the past several months.

Cubby was gifted to Quinlan on Mother's Day 8 years ago.

"I honestly thought he was gone forever," she said. "I'm just so happy."

Quinlan said she expected her children to be very excited when she walked in the door with their beloved dog.

Cubby suffered a broken pelvis as a result of being struck by a car before being discovered Wednesday. The dog, which was sheltered at the Bucks County SPCA in New Hope, is expected to make a full recovery.

Quinlan, with a sound of relief in her voice, said the lengthy rush hour drive from the Bucks County SPCA to her Fairless Hills home was "worth every minute." Worth it because she was finally bringing Cubby home.
