"It's a great time for families to come out and meet your neighbors, and you'll get to learn a little about your local politicians in the process," chairmen of the BTRO Wayne Page said.

Refreshments including hot dogs, hamburgers, cold soda and beer will be served.

The pavilion will have open volleyball and horseshoe courts. In addition to the games, BTRO organizers will be holding two raffles throughout the day: a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction.

The fundraiser will run from 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. at the Newportville Fire Company Pavilion on 2425 New Falls Road in Newportville on Saturday.

Tickets will be sold at the gate for $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 to 12.

Funds from the picnic will go to the campaigns of both local and county Republican candidates for the looming November election.
