Major Storm Could Slam Northeast Early Next Week

Will Tropical Storm Sandy hit the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast with heavy rain/snow, high winds and flooding?

Some computer models show that Tropical Storm Sandy could hit the Northeast - including eastern Pennsylvania - with fury early next week, which is the anniversary of last year's bizarre "Snowtober" storm.

Sandy could bring rain, snow, high winds and possible storm-surge flooding to the Boston-to-Washington corridor in a "slingshot" scenario, in which the tropical storm (or hurricane) initially moves out to sea, but is captured by the jet stream and flung back to the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast, according to Climate Central's Andrew Freedman.

Sandy could also simply move out to sea and that would be the end of it.

The National Weather Service predicts no severe weather for the Bucks and Montgomery areas at this time, but states: "The remnants of Sandy may affect portions of the area this weekend and into early next week. There is much uncertainty as to the eventful track of this system ... so stay tuned for future updates."

October is known for its weird, powerful storms, such as "The Perfect Storm" in 1991, which also involved energy from a tropical weather system.

I blame Obama for all the bad weather.

Yesterday Romney went on record saying he was against the weather. Today he denied that report and said he has always been a supporter of all weather.

I blame blind loyalty to a two party system that has candidates that agree on 95% of the issues.

This story is NOT breaking news, its likely it won't even happen!!!!! The fact that our Sec of State, the President, VP, the Sec of Defense all knew what was happening in Benghazi and they did nothing to save our Americans and then the willing LIED to the American people....now that is BREAKING NEWS!!!

First of all, this is the Newtown Patch folks, not a world news site. Second, you should be thankful to live in a town where covering a potential storm IS breaking news.

You can rant all you want but what does politics have to do with a potential storm?

@DG , can you please tell me what is wrong with the people who stick up and defend the actions of H.C. , B.O. and J.B. and many others that are covering up what happen in Benghazi? The Media is really just as bad if not worse... but the truth behind the media is that they are controlled by OBAMA'S biggest campaign contributors. It sickens me that these people who are campaigning for OBAMA even can look in the mirror at themselves and call their sorry selves AMERICAN'S .....

Did you buy a Generator for this Storm? Remember last year That big Snow? Who, What is to Blame? Only God can predict the weather

Funny bow a little humor can turn to hate when politics are injected. Now, back to the storm. I heard on the radio, "We could get 3 to 5 inches of rain, maybe more, maybe less"! I guess that about covers all possibilities.

Elle, it really sickens me that "AMERICAN'S" don't know the proper usage of possessive apostrophes. Oops. I got you on that one.

I would like to say it was amazing watching these future Hall of Famers at 8 years old fightingRead More through the weather and playing the 5 games in 2 days. They were tougher than many of the adults! I remember my days with Levittown American Little League playing in the 8-9 year old division and these boys would have taken us out! It would not have been close. Great Job to all and Congrats to Team Neshaminy...do you know how hard it is to say that as a Pennsbury Grad? I look forward to the next tournament!
