Odoms replaces Lorna Michelson, Ph.D., who served in the role for more than eight years, retiring in September 2011, according to a news release. The appointment was effective on Jan. 24.

"Trisha Odoms brings 14 years of senior nonprofit management experience to YWCA Bucks County at a time when significant innovation and growth is needed to meet an ever-increasing demand for human and social services within the communities we serve," said Anne Coe, president of the YWCA Bucks County Board of Directors. "Her time-proven leadership skills and extensive experience in all aspects of nonprofit management will help lay the groundwork for her to lead YWCA Bucks County to the next level of success, not only in the maintenance of existing programs and services, but in the creation of new outreach initiatives to meet very real and pressing community needs."

"I'm very pleased to be taking the helm at YWCA Bucks County," Odoms said. "This is a wonderful community outreach organization steeped with accomplishment and a remarkable history of helping others. I am genuinely excited about joining the YWCA, whose pillars of empowering women and eliminating racism align strongly with my deepest passions. I join a high-performance organization with highly-skilled and dedicated employees, and a solid and loyal base of funders, supporters, community partners and friends. I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead such a respected organization."

Most recently, Odoms was Chief Executive Officer of The YMCA of Trenton, where she oversaw compliance with the national YMCA charter, fund development, program management, marketing, membership development and board relations. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director of YMCA of Philadelphia and vicinity and also served that organization for three years as senior program director.
