The recall concern is over Listeria, a common organism found in nature. Food contaminated with Listeria, can cause listeriosis.

The disease itself is uncommon, but potentially fatal. It can cause severe headaches, nausea, high fevers, and neck stiffness. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis.

Individuals with weakened immune systems are most at risk, such as infants and elderly people or those undergoing chemotherapy.

Full refunds will be issued to customers who bring their purchase receipt back to the store.
