State representative Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks, 18th District) was also on hand to speak and lend support to the function.

The event culminated in a celebratory survivors’ lap around the track.

The American Cancer Society was on hand to receive a donated check for $10,000.

All proceeds from the relay will benefit treatment, resources and research for cancer patients.

The event also provided an opportunity for eligible participants who don’t have a personal history of cancer to register for a national landmark cancer prevention study.

More than 400 people were in attendance.
