Black Friday Shopping Survival Guide

It's that time of year again. Time to wake up at the crack of dawn, or skip sleeping altogether to score the best shopping deals. Those die-hard Black Friday shoppers who really try to get the most for their dollar might want to use the following guide for store hours, deals and links to some sales sheets.

If you'd rather take a more relaxing route to holiday shopping, most of the retailers below are also offering online deals on Black Friday. Then, of course, there is always Cyber Monday—the biggest online shopping day of the year, which takes place Nov. 28. (Check back this weekend for our Cyber Monday tips.)

Target: Opens at midnight.

Electronic deals:

Macy's: Most are opening at midnight, but a select few are opening at 4 a.m

Walmart: - Opens Thursday at 10 p.m. (for toys and more) and 12 a.m. on Friday for electronics.

To make the wait more enjoyable some locations will be showing "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" starting at 9 p.m. All of Best Buy's sales will be available in the Thanksgiving Day ad or online, here.
