Fritz's Bakery Finalist for Local Business Award

The Langhorne bakery is one for 20 finalists in Firstrust Bank's secodn annual Philly Business First awards.

Fritz's Bakery in Langhorne is one of 20 finalists competing in Firstrust Bank's Second Annual Philly's Business First Awards. Finalists were chosen from a strong pool of 535 nominated businesses. The grand prize winner, chosen by your votes, wins $15,000 to be split with the charity of their choice.

The contest website says that Fritz's Bakery was chosen because of its continued support of the local community, it's family ownership and because it maintains a positive atmosphere in the work place. According to a post on the bakery's Facebook page, their prize will be split with Focus on Homeless Animals.

“The nominations we received exceeded our expectations,” said Richard J. Green, CEO and Vice Chairman of Firstrust Bank. “The commitment of all the nominees toward community service, honesty and customer service, among many other values, is truly remarkable.”

Now in the second year, the Philly’s Business First Awards were created to shine a spotlight on local businesses making a positive difference in the community as nominated and voted on by the public.

Last year’s grand prize winner, Frankel & Kershenbaum, a local law firm committed to serving the legal needs of children and their families in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, generously donated their grand prize to Autism Speaks.  In recognition of the generosity of last year’s winner, this year the winners will all choose a charitable partner with whom to split their prize money.
