Frugal Family: Blockbuster Closing

A few things in this life come only once in a blue moon – a comet zipping by the sky, winning big at from a good hand at black jack, and store closing sales.

A few things in this life come only once in a blue moon – a comet zipping by the sky, winning big from a good hand at black jack and store closing sales.

Unfortunately, the Blockbuster at 403 South Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills is closing its doors forever this Sunday. This is bad news for frequent patrons and, of course, the employees who run it, but not for those local "Levittownians" looking for a good bargain.

Everything in the store that isn't nailed to the walls, and some of the things that are  nailed to the walls, are all up for grabs at extremely low prices. Previously viewed DVDs are all marked down to $3.99 or less. You may not find a lot of the major hits there, but a careful eye will find a few remaining gems. In case you need some extra storage space after you buy out the store, the shelves themselves are for sale: $75 per shelf or $100 for three.
