Kellie’s Deli & Market Opens For Business In Bristol

Bad weather did not stop customers, friends, and neighbors from coming to the opening of a Bristol business that boasts value and home-cooked meals.

"This is what I’ve done for the last decade -- cook for the neighborhood. After I was laid off, I was going to do something like this; the time was now. We’re not young forever," business owner Kellie Mohan said.

Mohan said she and Jack Tamanini worked tirelessly the last nine-months, starting from scratch, to get Kellie’s Deli & Market prepared for opening day.

"We really need this here. Bristol needs this. I’m so happy she is here," customer Kelly Capriotti said.   

Inside the brightly lit new business, the aroma of home-cooked eggs, coffee, and the "little buster" breakfast burrito invited customers like Bill McDaniel to stop in.

"We’ve known her for a while now, since she was at the bagel place down the block. It’s like seeing an old friend," McDaniel said. "Every day we'll be here. (Kellie) knows how to cook."

On opening day, streams of breakfast seekers placing orders, from nuns to trade-workers, all agreed. Were happy she’s finally opened and the delicious cooking was well worth the wait.

Breakfast specials start at $3, lunch specials at $5 with grinders, hoagies and salads among the choices and value, according to Mohan.

"Our prices are cheap compared to other places," Mohan said.

Kellie’s Deli & Market opened on Monday. It is located at 368 Dorrance Street in Bristol.

It's is open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. On weekdays delivery is free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for local businesses that make a $10 minimum purchase.
