Customers Can Retrieve Items from Shuttered Cleaners

The Payless Cleaners in Falls Township closed without noticed recently.

Customers whose clothes were held hostage when Payless Cleaners in Fairless Hills closed unexpectedly recently will have the opportunity to retrieve their items on Saturday.

The Bucks County Consumer Protection Department and other officials will be at the discount dry cleaner location at 150 Lincoln Highway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

"Customers must have either the original ticket or Identification plus article details," county officials said.

The business, which boasted a $1.99 special, closed without prior notice within the past two weeks. Patch was unsuccessful in reaching the owner of the shop.

Online reviews of the cleaners have been far from stellar.

"Don't let the cheap price fool you (like it did me). What you should expect from Payless Cleaners is 1. clothes not done on time (and no call to tell you they will be delayed) 2. Damaged clothes (they ruined 2 sweaters and a shirt) 3. LOST clothes 4. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. The owner of the store CURSED me out, and then DARED me to do something about my lost clothes. I immediately called Bucks County Consumer Protection, they knew about Payless as soon as I mentioned it," Amanda M. said in April of 2011 on InsiderPages.com.

The business had several other negative reviews on Yelp.com.
