Celebrating Summer Solstice in Levittown

The Summer Solstice welcomes a season of fun in the sun.

The summer solstice is the one day each year with the longest amount of daylight, and it’s coming up on Friday, June 21. You may want to take advantage of those extra sunny hours with a trip down the shore, to the mountains or plan on attending some of summer-fun events right here in the Levittown area.

Getting Your Groove On:
According to www.buckscountynightout.com, Groove Train Music presents "Groovefest Summer Solstice 2K13," over the solstice weekend, June 21 and 22. The music-filled event will take place from 8 p.m. - 2 a.m. at Murhy's Beef & Ale, located at 5725 Bristol-Emilie Road in Levittown. The event will feature the following acts: With Groove Train Riders, Traffic Jam, Khalid Quesada and Soul Rebels. For more information, visit the buckscountynightout website.

For the Family:
Why not spend some of the extra daylight hours on a Sunday stroll? The Silver Lake Nature Center, located at 1306 Bath Road in Bristol, hosts its own guided Sunday Strolls every Sunday from 2 - 3 p.m. According to the Silver Lake Nature Center website, the theme for the free June 23 Sunday Stroll is "June Bugs," and will discuss the world of insects.
