Farry Recognized By Firemen’s Legislative Federation

Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) was recently recognized by the Firemen’s Legislative Federation of Pennsylvania as the most recent recipient of the James Baird Award.

The award is occasionally presented to a legislator who has demonstrated outstanding support on behalf of Pennsylvania emergency services.

“It is an honor to receive an award like this from an organization that has been a voice of advocacy for emergency services organizations throughout Pennsylvania for more than 50 years,” said Farry.

Farry was chosen as a recipient because of his sponsorship of the cancer presumption legislation (Act 46 of 2011), which designated cancer as an occupational disease for firefighters and his support of the expansion of the Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program (Act 78 of 2012).

The award presentation took place during the 22nd annual Pennsylvania Fire and Emergency Services Institute dinner held on Monday, Nov. 19, at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill.

When presented with the award, Tom Savage, president of the Federation, recognized Farry’s strong advocacy for emergency services in the Legislature, adding that his voice is vital to continuing the fight for Pennsylvania’s long-standing tradition of volunteer fire services.

The Firemen’s Legislative Federation of Pennsylvania is a statewide fire service organization that advocates for legislation that has an impact on the emergency service community.
