FOOTBALL RIVALRIES!

We’ve got two big ones on tap this weekend. One is steeped in tradition -- Pennsbury vs. Neshaminy -- while the other is relatively new; Council Rock North vs. Council Rock South. But both will fill Friday night with lots of emotion. And it will be a beautiful night for football!

FIRST FRIDAY IN DOYLESTOWN

When/where: Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout downtown Doylestown

Why go: Lots of great music, exhibits and free events. Check out the Central Bucks Y where there will be a special needs art show, family story hour and fall wreath making.

Cost: Free.

 

FIRST FRIDAY HATBORO

When/where: Friday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout downtown Hatboro.

Why go: All kinds of fun stuff on the schedule, including Elvis Pretzel -- yes, Pretzel -- singing your favorite Elvis tunes at Little Corner Kitchen/Scoops.

Cost: Free.

 

PATRIOTIC ART EXHIBIT

When/where: Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., 1641 Old York Rd, Hartsville, (The Historic Moland House).

Why go: Internationally renowned sculptor Gregory William Marra will display historic art, drawings, and sculptured pieces with a patriotic theme.

Cost: $5.

 

ETHNIC FOOD & CRAFT FAIR

When/where: Saturday at 9 a.m., Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 1773 Woodbourne Road in Levittown.

Why go: Come hungry, because there will be plenty of pirohi, haluski (cabbage and noodles), halubki (stuffed cabbage), kielbasi and sauerkraut, all served hot and cold to go, and home-made baked goods. And check out a variety of craft vendors from holiday items to jewelry and soaps.

Cost: Free to browse, a few bucks to eat.

 

AUTISM-FREINDLY FILM

When/where: Saturday, November 5, 10 a.m., AMC Theater at Neshaminy Mall.

Why go: The program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing.

Cost: Free.

 

HOME SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA

When/where: Friday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Northampton Rec Center 345 Newtown Richboro Road in Richboro.

Why go: Your favorite home party products, all in one place! Invite your girlfriends for a fun-filled night out and get an early jump on the holiday shopping season. Refreshments available for purchase.

Cost: Free.
