U.S. Army Sgt. Welcomed Home by Levittown Resident

Theresa Cristella, of the Indian Creek section of Levittown, arranged a welcome home party for U.S. Army Sgt. Dustin Dykstra over the weekend.

A Levittown resident arranged a welcome home party Sunday after her boyfriend returned from his second tour of Afghanistan. But the U.S. Army Sgt. had a surprise of his own waiting for his girlfriend

Sgt. Dustin Dykstra, 29, proposed to girlfriend, Theresa Cristella, after he landed at the Philadelphia International Airport. The two and their families then went to celebrate at Cristella’s house, in the Indian Creek section of Levittown.

Bristol Township police and firefighters blocked off Inkberry Road. American flag banners and signs were hung to greet Dykstra. The event was helped put together by The Warriors Watch Riders and A Hero's Welcome.

Dykstra grew up in Morrisville and graduated from Pennsbury High School and the Bucks County Technical High School.

According to the Phillyburbs.com story, Dykstra is a Black Hawk crew chief who repairs and maintains helicopters. He said he also serves as a medic. He will be home for three weeks before returning to Germany later this month.
