Recycle Electronics Properly this Spring

Dispose of your electronics properly at two upcoming recycling events.

If you stumble upon old electronics during your spring cleaning, make sure you dispose of them properly.

TVs and computers can no longer be picked up at curbside trash collections under the Covered Device Recycling Act, which went into effect in January. Area electronic collections, like the two happeneing in Bensalem and Levittown in the upcoming months, will be held to ensure that items are recycled.

Harry S. Truman High School in Levittown will hold its first Household Hazardous Waste Collection program event on Saturday, April 20. From 9 to 3 p.m., a collection will be held in the school's parking lot.

  • Scrap metal such as bicycles, lawn mowers, copper pipes and anything that is at least 50 percent metal (no tires, air conditioners or refrigerators)

Bensalem Township Public Works department will also hold an electronic recycling event. The collection will be held at 3800 Hulmeville Rd. (Byberry and Hulmeville roads) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

The township is partnering with E-Force Recycling to dispose of "anything with a plug" that you no longer use or need. At the event, you'll drive through garbage bay at the Public Works and personnel will be available to assist with unloading items.
