Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect Until 2 p.m.

National Weather Service issues storm warning.

 

After a hot week and a rough Friday night storm, another blast from Mother Nature could occur Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch through 2 p.m. for Philadelphia and surrounding counties.

"This watch means that conditions are favorable for thunderstorms containing 1 inch or larger hail and/or wind gusts of at least 58 mph (50 knots)," the advisory said.

"Persons in the watch area should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.  Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes."

The advisory is for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
