Weather Service Calls For High Winds

Hold on to your hats.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Levittown and surrounding areas in effect from late Friday through Saturday evening.

The watch is calling for possible gusty to locally damaging winds.

Numerous tree limbs will be knocked down along with weaker trees and power lines, according to the Weather Service. Power outages and difficult driving conditions are possible.

Sustained northwest winds from 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

The highest winds are expected to occur between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Here’s the local forecast:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. West wind between 9 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 45. Windy, with a west wind between 22 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23. Blustery, with a north wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.

Sunday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 44. West wind between 7 and 14 mph.
