Bristol Fire Company (Station 51) Offers Fire Safety Pointers and Fun in Wal-Mart Parking Lot on Sunday October 27th

Missed your chance to learn
about Fire Prevention earlier this month?
Not a problem, Bristol Fire Company (Station 51) will offer up a day of
fire safety pointers and family fun on Sunday, October 27 in the Wal-Mart
parking lot at Route 13 & 413 in Bristol.  The free event
will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Station 51’s fire prevention
team will be on-site to demonstrate ways to prevent house fires and ways to
stay safe if a fire were to occur.  There
will be kid-friendly activities including a moon bounce, a DJ playing the
today’s latest hits, and free snacks.

“Fire Safety and Prevention
should not be a topic that only lasts a week; it is a topic that should last a
lifetime.  That’s why we are reinforcing
this message at our October 27 event,” said Bristol Fire Chief Herb Slack.

Chief Slack also hopes adult
attendees will take the time to learn about the various volunteer opportunities
which exist within Station 51. “We are always in need of firefighters, but we
do not just seek volunteers as firefighters. There are ample opportunities to
put your clerical, HR, book-keeping and event assistance skills to much-needed
use as a volunteer,” he stresses.
