BCFA, DelVal College to Discuss Future and Fate of Livestock Production

RESCHEDULED for Thursday, Nov. 29, 7-9pm, on campus

Bucks County Foodshed Alliance and the Delaware Valley College Book Community present “The American Farm from Family to Factory,” a roundtable discussion on the fate and future of livestock production, on Thursday, 29 November, 7-9pm, in the Feldman Agriculture Building, room 113, on the college campus.

The program features Bucks County farmers and DelVal faculty including

Henry Rosenberger, Tussock Sedge Farm in Blooming Glen
Brenda Slack, Milk House Farm Market in Newtown
Dr. Sara Crawford, Asst. Prof., Large Animal Science & Swine Science
Dr. Pamela Reed, Associate Professor of Animal Science
Dr. Bruce Richards, Asst. Prof., Large Animal Science and Dairy Science

The discussion, moderated by Dr. Michael W. Stamps of DelVal’s English Department, will be based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s thoughtful and well-written book, Eating Animals (2009, Little Brown). The panelists will respond to questions prepared in advance as well as follow-up questions from the audience.
