Celebrate Fourth of July: Middletown Parade

It's time for Middletown Township's second annual Fourth of July Parade.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. with a 21-gun salute, taking place at Veterans Memorial Park on veterans Highway. The parade route stretches along Trenton Road and will conclude at Twin Oaks Park.

Parade spectators should bring lawn chairs or stand along the parade route. There will be bleachers at 2140 Trenton Road, by the Middletown Township Recreation Center, and a judges booth will be set up at the Statesman Home, along the 2600 block of Trenton Road.

A program specialist with the Parks and Recreation department said that last year’s inaugural parade was an unbelievable success. According to the program specialist, Pat Mallon, chairperson of the township board of supervisors, and the board itself supported the parade initiative. Lamanna said that a parade committee was formed, made up of members from the business and general community.
