January brings with it some new and exciting news from the
Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. We are adding new events and creating new partnerships! If you are already a member, we look forward to your help and input and if you aren’t a member – join us!

This month’s Business Card Exchange is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Makefield Highlands Golf Club • 1418 Woodside Rd. • Yardley, PA  19067. Use this as a venue to engage in two or three quality conversations with local business people rather than simply passing out your business cards. Follow those conversations up with lunch or coffee to
learn more – who knows you can end up doing business or act as referrals for
each other.

Our second Young Professionals Happy Hour is Thursday, January 2 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Continental Tavern• 2 North Main Street • Yardley, PA 19067. This get together includes happy hour and the opportunity to network with young professionals in the area (35 and under) as well as learn something new from a brief business-related presentation. Complimentary appetizers, cash bar.

Join us for a fun event at the end of the month. The Chamber will hold its First Annual Chili Cook-Off on Thursday, January 31, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chamber • 409 Hood Boulevard • Fairless Hills, PA 19030. You provide a Crock-Pot, Chili for Tastings, and Condiments...we provide the Venue, a Table, Electricity, Spoons & Bowls, Live Music and Prizes! A panel of judges and the attendees will vote on the Best Chili in Lower Bucks!  Your name and photo will appear in Outlook Magazine. Up for Grabs… 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place!
Cost: $10 per 2 guests to attend

The Chamber is partnering with Villanova University to offer Certificate courses
in Human Resources Management. The course will be offered on Tuesdays beginning January 29 for 13 weeks, 6-9:00 p.m. at the Chamber • 409 Hood Boulevard • Fairless Hills, PA 19030. Villanova University Professor Richard Handschumacher, SPHR, will teach a 13-week course to prepare
students for the Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in
Human Resources exam. This course provides HR recertification credit hours and
offers professional development and skill building through classroom
participation.
