Charles Robert Burgess, 58, Lifelong Pizza Maker

Charles Robert Burgess passed away on Monday after a two-year battle with cancer.

Charles Robert Burgess passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his home after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He was 58. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was son of the late Charles and Hedwig (Bucholz) Burgess. He was raised in Levittown and has been a West Bristol resident for the past 35 years.  He was a lifelong pizza maker and was owner of Joe's Pizza in Hatboro for the past five years. Previously Charles was employed by the Bucks County Housing Authority for many years. He was a handyman and along with his father-in-law built his home.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Deborah (Carango) Burgess, his devoted children, Lena-Maria, Angelanea, Lucia, Carlo, and Antonio Burgess. Also survived by 2 brothers, Garrett Burgess and Howard Burgess (Janet), 3 sisters, Viola Brown, Irene Fitzpatrick, and Wynitia Sgroi (Robert), his in-laws, William and Joan Carango along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Anderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, May 29, 2014, 11:00am at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday morning 9-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a Scholarship Fund for his son, Antonio, c/o Deborah Burgess.
