Dolores Desloges, 83, Taught at Pearl Buck Elementary

Dolores (Seyferhelt) Desloges died peacefully Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Chandler Hall in Newtown, with her family at her side. She was 83.

She was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. She later met Richard Desloges at a dance at Fort Dix, N.J., and then shortly after they were married. They later moved to and resided in Levittown, where they raised their family.

She was a teacher's aide at Pearle Buck Elementary School in Levittown, where all the kids called her 'Mrs. D.'

Dolores loved to read novels and the Sunday paper. She also enjoyed caring for her cat, traveling and having lunch with her friends.

This past year she celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary with her husband, Richard, family, and friends.

Dolores is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; daughter, Deborah Mitchell, and son, Michael. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Michael, Nicholas, and Elaina; and her four great-grandchildren, who called her 'Gigi.' She will be sadly missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews, family around the country and her friends.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will be held privately. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dolores's name may be made to Chandler Hall Health Services, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA 18940.
