John Dougherty, Jr., 67, Bucks Emergency Management Director

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's funeral mass on Friday, Nov. 8, at St. Mark Church in Bristol Borough.

John D. Dougherty, Jr. passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was 67. Born in Bristol Borough, son of the late John D. Sr. and Estelle (Morgan) Dougherty, he was a lifelong resident. 

John was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1965 and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed as Fire Chief at U.S. Steel and for the past 20 years was the Emergency Management Director for Bucks County from where he retired. 

John was a lifelong member of the Bristol Consolidated Fire Co., No. 50, was a member of the Bristol Borough Firefighters Union and chairman of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Task Force.

He was very proud to be part of the Bristol Borough community and worked tirelessly to keep Bristol Borough and all of Bucks County safe. 

John enjoyed golfing, was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren's sporting events and watching the Phillies and Eagles games with his wife.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ann (Bradley) Dougherty, loving father of Michelle Fusco and her husband, Joseph and Dr. John D. Dougherty, III and his wife, Dr. Cindi Oh, devoted grandfather to Samantha, Brianna, Jessica and Madilyn. 

He will be sadly missed by his four sisters, Bernice Kravchak and her husband, Michael, Elizabeth Dougherty, Patricia Delaney and her husband, Kevin, and Harriet Webster and her husband, Bob and one brother, Kevin Dougherty and his wife, Darcy along with many nieces, nephews and caring neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, November 8, 2013, 10 a.m. at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mark Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening between 6 and 9 p.m. and Friday morning 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe Street, Bristol Borough. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark Church, 1025 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, Pa 19007.
