Thomas Howley, 83, Owned Howley's Bar in Bristol

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home in Levittown. Howley's funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at Saint Frances Cabrini Church in Fairless Hills.

Thomas Howley died peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Sunday, December 1, 2013. He was 83.

Born in Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland, Mr. Howley was a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.

Thomas was the owner/operator of the former Howley's Bar in Bristol Boro for 26 years, prior to it's closing in 1996.

He was a proud member of the Mayo Association of Philadelphia for many years.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Marjorie (McGee), Thomas was the loving father of Anne Marie Warren (Scott), Valerie Robinson (Rich), Patricia Howley and Noeleen Darr (Jeff) and the devoted grandfather of Michael, Thomas, Fiona, Ryan, Julia, Alex, Mike, Jeffrey, Julianna and Emily Grace. He will also be sadly missed by his faithful friend Pugsy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas was the last to survive of 10 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff from Crossroads Hospice for their gentle care and compassion during his final weeks of life.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 9:30 a.m. at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills followed by the Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to MDA Warhorse - Austin, 9430 Research Blvd., Bldg. II, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78759, in honor of Thomas' grandson, Ryan Thomas, who is battling Muscular Dystrophy.
