Alleged Robbery Attempt Prompts Extra Police Patrols At BCCC
Campus security received an anonymous tip today that there was an attempted robbery on the Newtown Campus Monday at 9 p.m.
Extra police patrols were requested at after Newtown Campus officials received an anonymous tip Friday about an attempted robbery that reportedly occurred Monday.
According to a report from BCCC’s security department, which was forwarded to Patch and posted on the college’s Facebook page, campus security was notified there was an attempted robbery on the Newtown Campus Monday at 9 p.m.

According to the report, which was filed through the anonymous crime reporting form on the college’s website, the victim was near the student drop-off area in front of the Gateway/Rollins area when they were approached by a male. The male, who was reported to be acting "nervous," was described as being about five feet, nine inches tall and possibly of high school age.
The male claimed to have an unspecified weapon, but did not display one, according to the report from BCCC security. The would-be robber fled after the victim refused to concede to his demands.

Jean Dolan, BCCC’s assistant director of public relations, said no crime was committed but Newtown Township police have been notified and are investigating.
The victim has not yet come forward, Dolan added.
