Bensalem Woman Charged with Child Endangerment Following Crash

A Bensalem woman faces two felony offenses stemming from allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash and leaving her young children behind.

A Bensalem woman is facing two felony child endangerment charges following a crash in which she was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jamie Lynn Wilkinson, 34, was arrested on Saturday and also charged with DUI, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, failure to stop and render aid and two summary counts of causing accident damage to unattended vehicle or property following a crash on Saturday in Bristol Borough, according to court records.

Wilkinson, after allegedly hitting two parked cars Saturday, fled the scene, leaving her 6-month-old and 18-month-old babies behind, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Neighbors tended to the infants until police arrived and Bucks County Children and Youth, who took the tots following the incident, later released them to Wilkinson’s sister, according to the newspaper.

Wilkinson is being held in Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $500,000 bail. She awaits a preliminary hearing which has been scheduled for later this month.
