Borough Police Investigating Gunfire Incident

Bristol Borough police are investigating an incident that took place in the 300 block of Swain Street.

Shortly after 7:20 p.m. Tuesday evening police in Bristol Borough responded to reports of gunshots in the 300 block of Swain Street.

The incident involved two women and resulted in no injuries, police said.

"No evidence was left at the scene, but witnesses spotted a handgun," a Bristol Borough police sergeant told Patch.

Late Tuesday night police reported, the investigation was still evolving and continued to be ongoing.

The officer said investigators believed some type of gun was fired, but it was unclear which direction the projectile from the weapon went.

The incident between the two women began with an argument that involved children and escalated into something much more. Many details are not clear at this time, the sergeant said.

The incident forced police to closed several roads around Swain Street, by 9 p.m. they were reopened.

The sergeant said police are working to gather more information and looking speak with the woman who is accused of firing the gun.
