Charges Filed in Suspected Apartment Arson, Homicide

A Levittown man will be arraigned in Bristol Township Friday afternoon on homicide and arson charges.

Bristol Township police have filed three homicide charges against a Levittown man accused of killing a mother, her daughter and unborn child then setting a fire at the Avalon Court Apartments on Nov. 25.

Marcel Johnson, 21, will be arraigned before District Judge Joanne Kline at 1 p.m. Friday in Bristol. According to previous reports, Johnson had been placed into custody following the fire under minor drug possession charges.

During the investigation, officers allegedly discovered that Johnson was the last person to see a pregnant Ebony Tally and her daughter R'Mani Rankins alive.

The Bucks County District Attorney will hold a press conference about the arrest Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bristol Township Police Department on Bath Road.
